I do not miss the olsen twins.
I'm not really sure how to mark this, because lasts are usually hard to pinpoint. . . But we broke up with the girls that we have been doing respite care with for the past 6 years. It is weird to think that they won't be coming back.
It was never a stellar match in the first place, and was only supposed to be for one weekend in oct 2001. But they kept coming back, in a variety of sibling combinations, one staying for a few months, and a couple of them spending parts of the summer with us. By the end they had taken on an extended family role in our lives; we have a photo album bursting with pictures of them, and LittleE calls our spare room their room.
We started attending a church regularly so that they would have other kids their age to see on the weekends, and the fun and struggles we've had with them have shaped how MamaM and i work together as parents. They were the catalysts for our big collection of children's books, and for our dress-up box.
It was not a hostile ending by any means, and I hope that everyone is feeling good about it. Of all the zany things going on this year, it is the one big decision i am confident about making.
But we're still keeping with the organisation for now. We've made a much better match with an older teen who has met queers before, is mellow, and shares interests with us. It's good.
And the verb "to piss" goes back to having only urine as a direct object. hallelujah.
